Reyes & Reyes is a Law Firm founded in 1994 by a qualified and interdisciplinary group of professionals offering strategic high-level legal services.

José Luis Reyes Villamizar

Lawyer

Born 1961. BLL from Javeriana in Bogotá (1987). Master’s Degree in Public Administration (emphasis in International Business) from the George Washington University, Washington, D.C. in 1992 (Fulbright Scholar). Holds a diploma in Portuguese Culture from the University of Lisbon (Portugal).

Mr. Reyes was Head of the Legal Affairs Office and then Legal Advisor and Deputy Head of the Industrial Property Delegation at The Superintendence of Trade and Industry, which deals in Colombia with Industrial Property, Competition Law and Consumer Protection Affairs.

He has also been advisor to the Ministers of Justice and International Trade of Colombia dealing with areas of Procedural Law, Intellectual Property and Litigation. Since 1994 he has been advising REYES & REYES’ clients in the major areas of concentration of the firm. He has been a professor of commercial law and international business law at different universities. Member of The Court of Arbitration of Bogotá´s Chamber of Commerce. He is frequent speaker in national and international law and policy seminars and in World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) sponsored seminars Mr. Reyes heads the International Business Department of Reyes & Reyes, dealing mostly with International Business Transactions IP Contracts and international Business Law issues.

Juan Pablo Reyes Villamizar

Lawyer

Born 1970. BLL from Javeriana University (1995). He has been advisor to the Colombian Ministry of Industry and to the Ministry of Mining.

In addition to his ample experience in the areas of contracts, industrial property, litigation and sanitary law, he has been member of different boards of directors in public and private corporations, especially in the Mining sector.

He is currently in charge of filing and prosecuting trademark, patent and industrial design petitions before the Colombian Industrial Property Agency for Reyes & Reyes clients. Mr. Reyes is also responsible for coordinating all intellectual property issues of Reyes & Reyes´s clientele in the Americas. He also coordinates the trademark infringement and unfair competition tem at Reyes & Reyes.
